iRead4Skills Advances Partnership at Skills2Capabilities Meeting in Venice
iRead4Skills recently played a pivotal role at the second meeting of the Skills2Capabilities Horizon Europe project, held in Venice. This gathering brought together over 40 experts to discuss solutions to European labor market challenges, emphasizing skill qualification systems.
Ana Miguel Leite, the project manager of iRead4Skills, actively participated in the recent Skills2Capabilities meeting, underscoring our commitment to collaborative progress.
The event also served as a prelude to the upcoming Skills Horizons event. Organized as part of our dedication to the European Year of Skills, Skills Horizons is set to highlight innovative strategies in skill development crucial for today’s economy. This initiative not only celebrates the impact of Horizon Europe and Horizon 2020 projects on skill development but also promotes collaboration and innovation across various sectors.
The meeting commenced with an insightful keynote by Sandra McNally from the University of Surrey and LSE on ‘Training and Re-Skilling in the Labour Market’. Subsequent discussions explored the responsiveness of Vocational Education and Training (VET) systems and analyzed the impact of funding structures on training accessibility and volumes.
Giulia Santangelo from Cedefop provided another keynote on the second day, offering valuable data on skill requirements and mismatches in the EU labor markets.
